SING CHILD SING

Botis Seva | Far From The Norm

Over 10 years in the making, Sing Child Sing is a solo performed by Botis exploring how we carry the past within our bodies and what it takes to loosen its hold. Rooted in autobiographical experience, Botis traces how abandonment, faith, and frustration become physically embedded, surfacing as both function and fracture.

How do we protect ourselves as we learn from the past, without living forever in its shadow?

Performed by Seva and created with Far From The Norm, this new solo work for Autumn ‘26 is an unfiltered exploration of healing, identity, and the invisible legacies passed from one generation to the next.

Set within a shifting interior landscape, part room, part memory, animated by sound and light, Botis’ distinctive movement language, merging hip hop and contemporary practice, becomes a site of recalibration.

UNTIL WE SLEEP

Botis Seva | Far From The Norm

Until We Sleep is the new Hip Hop dance production from Olivier award winning choreographer Botis Seva. Underlined with a resistance to change, a lone warrior journeys through time, with every step full of significance as they battle between hope and responsibility.

The narrative centers around a woman grappling with faith as she guides her nomadic community through the shifting sands of time in a relentless, crumbling world. The journey unfolds as a hero's quest in which the woman confronts an abundance of obstacles to unravel her identity and purpose.

Until We Sleep is a combination of Botis' rebellious earlier choreographic urges and his more recent methodological learnings and personal life maturities over the past 15 years.

Until We Sleep opened in February 2023 and since opening has been presented at schrit_tmacher Festival (The Netherlands), Tanz Haus Köln (Germany), Brighton Dome (UK), Rum för Dans (Sweden), Kalamata Dance Festival (Greece), Théâtre de la Ville (France), Dansenhus Stockholm (Sweden), De Singel (Belgium), Amare Theater; Theater Rotterdam; Musis & Stadstheater Arnhem; Schouwberg Conzertaal Tilburg (The Netherlands).
